Cashier: “hmmm…. your card isn’t scanning, let me take it into the back and ask the manager”.
Two days later,
You: ” Where the hell did I spend 500 dollars?”
I am usually the first to give two thumbs up to any technology, but this seems like it will make it too easy to swipe someones number. I bet a hacked app could also remember the number for later. We need smart cards. A rotating encryption algorithm that switches each time it is used. Just like when you unlock your car with the remote.
i agree with trekgeek1…it is a really cool peice of technology but when u have many devices with the capability of this, there are many ways for people to steal the number and use it for the wrong reasons
if i could be convinced that this is 100% secure, im all for it, but until then it seems risky
I think the hardware is poor. Never put pressure on a headset jack NEVER. I can see so many complaints about broken headset jack when this device is out. Phone companies will not like the results from using this device and may void the warranties of the user’s phones due to this. There has to be a better way for this to work. Great concept i just don’t think it’s very secure but i can see how people may catch on to it. Good luck.
Probably won’t catch in since you have to buy the add on device. These types of addons don’t usually sell very well. If it was just the app and all you had to do was input the card number (or better yet have the camera recognize the number with a snapshot) then it might have a chance.
cool! i cant wait to hear about the first successful hack for this thing cuz of a careless owner! …… NOT!!!!
i have a sprint htc hero can it still work
brilliant

That guy was so hip and trendy. *throws up*
dayyum! I saw my homie george jettson with one of these.
Haha this this is amazing .. Well kinda =\
Why doesn’t Square utilize the 30-pin connector? The device wouldn’t spin, and it wouldn’t occupy my headphone jack.
@HolyDivar Because with audio jack it works on any device, not just the iPhone.

$300.00 for that piece of crap?
… assuming the whole world can afford an iPhone
